Kenya
– Amboseli National Park
The
Amboseli plain is a feast for the eyes and the ears; a National
Geographic special in real life. The land goes on seemingly forever
and within its dry brown caked soil, the rocky outcroppings, the lush
green grassland, the dense shrubs, the marshes and watering holes is
life in its natural state; a place where animals of all types live side by side. The
predators have their eyes on the prey while those who feed on the
vegetation can be found within close proximity, living peacefully and
taking care of their kin.
Here, one is, indeed, assaulted by nature's gifts. There is wildlife in the thousands; the animals talking to
one another in a language only they can understand, their raw power and strength coupled with care and compassion for their families, the colors pure and untouched; this majesty of creation is almost ethereal in its presence. One wants to
memorize the sight, hold on to the vision, remain quiet without a
word said, and be humble in the face of it all.
On the way to Amboseli...
