Swakopmund
June 14-15
Swakopmund, north of the port town of Walvis Bay, home of the largest Namibian harbor, was our home for two nights. A remnant of German colonial days and founded in 1892, it is, indeed, thoroughly African, even with its half-timbered architecture. The promenades along the sea make it a favorite vacation destination and, as I was on vacation, I decided to stroll the town without my camera.
